chipmunks live alone
Chipmunks live mostly in woodlands and scrub areas of North America. Unlike squirrels, chipmunks spend most of their time on the ground. They dig burrows with their front paws, kicking dirt out with their hind feet or pushing it with their heads. Usually, the burrow have one main entrance. Except for mother chipmunks with a litter, chipmunks live alone and will defend the area around their burrow. Some chipmunks have a single room in which they sleep, store food, and hibernate.
