I am so glad to see that we have sucessfully made the gathering
happened on time. 13 Peoples from 10 different families ( there are 3 couples)
participated the meeting (I will send the information I gathered

It's a great chance to meet so many friends who wish to invest time

Here is my proposal. You could please tell us whatever you think.

The group should be composed of 15 peoples. Every people contributes $10K and minimal one day/week without payment. By applying $150K from banks, we could build a mid-size house (the average price of house in Toronto is around $320K).
After selling out this house, I expect that we do not lose money at least. We paid time, but got experience. The most important is to get the appropriate partners we could co-operate further.
Time will test everything. Let's know each other while working together.

I'd like to make following statements to clarify possible questions.

1. You could register at our group and attend our meeting, but you are not obligated to invest any money together with us.

2. You registered at our group and attended our meeting, but you may not be eligible to invest any money together with us either. To protect everybody's interest, credit check and background investigation may be applied (It's my proposal only).

3. No any decision has been made and voting should make every major decision. It means all of proposals are debatable including the projects we are going to work, the total amount of money to invest, the number of peoples to compose the group and etc.

1. 15 人中有无本地作builder或remodeler经验的人？
2. 有无对预算，规范，报批，材料，合同文件，施工及市场买卖等方面有经验的人？
2. 是否作过可行性计划如详细预算及市场调查？
3. 人多力量大，同时也众口难调，是否动手之前取得共识,（并落实到文件上），如从公司名称到工程的职责杨分配及亏盈的分配? 最好一切说在前头，说的越细越好，并无条件服从。
4. 是否考虑过意外的情况，如有人中途退出，天气反常，施工延期，预算不足，资金不够，验收不合格，房子卖不出，甚至火灾等的应变措施。

7 Peoples from 6 different families attended tonight's meeting in 缘叙园 (Toronto 城市广场东南面). They are Atlanta (Jimmy), ACEW (Victor), homes2006 (Steve), Jason, Mr.Zhu and me.

Except for two families who are not yet determined, we agreed to form an investment group in which every member has equal voting power to make decisions. It could be "Limited Partnership" or other forms of incorporation. We welcome more peoples to join us. In addition, we are willing to provide help for those peoples who will build their own house if they are willing to share their informations.

很可惜这次没有时间参加MEETING，下次一定尽可能抽时间去。希望能了解到最后怎么决定的。有没有决定什么时候启动？还有就是每个成员有什么特长？能在建房的时候承担什么角色？我们是否有足够的有相关经验的成员去运行？对资金和工程大小有没有个建议了？谢谢。

We do have some verbal agreements about what we are going to do:
1) We will set up a trust account.
2) We will look for an appropriate project to start.
3) We will regularly meet by MSN.
4) We will check credit of participants by each other.

Before signing the final agreement, everything is still open.

Dear All,

I'm confident that we will be successful. Please look at the number of posts here, look at the number of peoples who read these messages. Collectively we are very rich of money, experience, knowledge, experience... We are not lack of anything to build a house.

However, one thing is not yet enough. That's trust!

Let me tell you a short story.

Last weekend we had a meeting (please see post #89). To pay the bill, I went to the cashier to get some changes. On the way back to our table, I met a young gentleman who I met once in summer. He asked me "what are you doing?", "a small business meeting" I said. Then I got a very surprised question from him, i.e., "Is it not for DIRECT SALE?"

This dialogue told me how much suspicion exists in our Chinese Canadian community. Many of us had experienced too many traps like "Direct Sale" (it's a kind of rats' meeting). It's blocking the co-operation among us.

Although it may take long time to clear the blocks, we will get it. It's sure.

Let's build trust first and then the foundation of our "house" will be strong.

In addition to your suggestions, I feel it's important to set up some rules to guarantee we have right partners.

For example, to exclude "Direct Sale" persons, we could require to publish the legal names in internet for whoever (including me) wants to take part in our investment group. Let public challenge his/her credit.

I'm confused by your post.

I talked how to promote the trust in our Chinese Canadian comunity as I feel that trust is what we need most to start a real project. Why I mentioned "传销"? Because this question has been addressed to me more than once by others and they do want to exclude those persons releated to "传销".

It looks for me what you are talking about is a little far from that issue. I'm not sure whether you are challenging my credit. If that's the case, please directly talk about that. To facilitate your investigation on my credit, I'd like to provide some of my personal information here.

I'm using my real name (Wu, Ying). As there are many peoples have the same nam as mine, I registered with wuyingwuying as my ID in internet.

If you do not know me, you could please find out my photos and some of my history from several articles about a meeting I attended very recently (related to the selection of high school). 盖房的事也算上我们一个.我先生是做楼宇自控设计的,中加经验合起来十四五年了.我们先后买过两套房,其中一个是期房,对盖的过程多少有些了解,一直梦想着将来能住进自己设计的"豪宅".看到这个帖子,觉得找到组织了.能跟这么多能人合作,比自个儿单干强多啦.

一点建议,多伦多也就是4-11月能干活,想今年动手的话大家行动就得快点了,至少要尽快弄个目标及行动总纲领出来,每个人好分点HOME WORK做起来啊.
